The schools have been closed due to COVID-19 for 5 weeks now. That’s like 30 weeks in mom time. If you are barely hanging on, then there’s a very simple solution to help you keep your sanity. YOU MUST GET TIME ALONE.
If you don’t, then you quite simply won’t make it.
We’re all going to crack. That’s a given. But, how BADDLY you crack up will depend largely on the amount of time you’ve managed to escape throughout these longs weeks.
The best escape for moms is to just go for a walk (safely) and listen to a podcast by-women for-women that are relatable, make you feel NORMAL, make you laugh, and (added bonus) may even motivate you!

Best Podcasts for SAHM’s Who Need A Freaking Minute
Forever 35
This has been on my go-to list for a while now. If you’re jonesing for some quality girl time, then this may be right up your ally. It’s just two ladies talking about beauty products, their regular lives, and what they do to keep sane on the regular.
Since all the Corona-craziness, they’ve launched a new podcast, Here For You with Kate & Doree. This is a daily podcast that’s like having a little lifeline to the outside world. If you’re in need of a little at-a-girl, or just a mental health break, then I totally recommend you check these ladies out.
My Dad Wrote a Porno
During one of my first group meetings with my No-Kid Mom Group, we started sharing our latest fav podcasts. And, this sweet-as-pie mama chimed in with “My Dad Wrote A Porno is my new guilty pleasure.” It was like a record stopped.
The entire podcast is just 3 friends reading a LEGIT porno one of their dad’s wrote. That’s it. The podcast is them reading each chapter aloud. And, of course, laughing hysterically with colorful commentary.
Plus, they’re British. I mean, does it get any better?
Sidebar: I found this gem when I was trying to survive the holidays (go here & see how I did it!), and I popped this crazy podcast on during one of my walks around the neighborhood.
OMG. Yall. I was literally laughing out loud the WHOLE WALK.
My mommy bladder had a few close calls, I have to say!
If you need a SERIOUS break from this craziness, OR just need a hard-core laugh—this is what you’re looking for!
Shameless Mom Academy
I’ve raved about this podcast before, but it bears repeating! If a mom guilt podcast is what you need right now, then GO TO SHAMELESS MOM! One long walk and an earful of this pod is just what the doctor ordered.
It’ll cure your guilt, shame, or any other BS feelings that have you in knots about what a shitty job you may be doing with motherhood, work, or BOTH. It’s a great support system for ALL moms just trying to do it all.
If you’re looking for a motivational podcast for moms, or a mom empowerment pod cast, then check Shamelss Mom Academy out. It will NOT disappoint!
This one definitely goes on list for the top podcasts for working moms.
Mindful Mama – Parenting With Mindfulness
Stop what you’re doing and GO to this podcast! She’s on day 22 of her Mindful Mama Daily Dose, which has been a total freaking lifesaver for me.
She’ll help you breathe, calm down, and get recentered. Talk about getting clarity in a VERY short period of time—-WHEW! Ladies, this is the mommy time-out you’ve been dreaming about.
I love her typical podcast, during non-coronavirus times! But, right now, this little mama has her finger on the pulse of what everyday moms need to survive right now.
She’s like the least judgmental BFF that you’ve ever had mixed with a real mom dealing with the same stuff you are right now….just well versed on meditation & mindfulness. She’s glorious.
